Guru Nanak Khalsa College was established in 1968 in Yamunanagar to commemorate the quincentenary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.It was intended to be a great centre of ideal education.Since its inception,the college has been deeply committed to the propagation of nationalisn,patriotism and secularism.It is always striving for inculcating a sense of emotional unity, humanism and national integration.Today, This institution possesses a vast campus with magnificent structure.
Founded in 1968 to comemorate the 500th birthday of great humanist and saint Guru Nanak Dev ji, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar has endeavoured to live up to his ideals of humanism and secularism by empowering the weaker and disadvantaged sections of society through meaningful career-oriented education. Today the college has on its rolls about 5000 students, from every nook and corner of India and abroad. They can choose to study from 10 postgraduate and 28 undergraduate courses. Owing to its spectacular achievements in academics, sports and community welfare activities, the college was declared the best Non-government college affiliated to Kurukshetra University during the year 2004-05. The college also has the unique distinction of being the only postgraduate college in Haryana to have been honored with A+ grade by NAAC. Recently, the UGC has awarded the college with Potential for Excellence status to the college for its outstanding achievements

Established to commemorate the quincentenary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Birthday in 1968, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar has risen to be a center of excellence in education and sports. Initially intended to be an ideal center of learning where the young learners could be trained in the true spirit of our ancient culture, it has sought to synthesize the best of traditional and scientific values among students. Since its inception the institution has been deeply committed to the propagation of nationalism, patriotism and secularism. It has especially endeavoured to empower the educationally backward and disadvantaged, primarily rural population by imparting liberal general and vocational education in languages, arts, commerce, science and sports.
The college is being managed by a committed managing committee with S.Bhupinder Singh Jauhar, CMD, JAI Group of Industries, as its Chairman. He is a renowned industrial magnet and a philanthropist of repute. He is on the Governing Bodies of a good number of educational Institutions of this area. Under his guidance and dynamic leadership, the college has made remarkable progress. He is assisted by a team of eminent educationists, jurists, industrialists and political luminaries to keep the spirit of education aflame.

With more than 5000 students from every nook and corner of the country and abroad on its rolls, Guru Nanak Khalsa College offers a truly secular and multicultural environment for becoming a complete individual. The college has been duly rewarded for its pursuit for excellence. In 2004-2005 Kurukshetra University declared it the over-all Best Non-Government aided college of the University for its remarkable achievements in academics, sports, cultural activities, research and extension activities during the year 2003-2004. The college also holds the unique distinction of earning A+ grade from NAAC, an autonomous body of the UGC for accreditation of the colleges in the country. We say it with pride that we are the only post graduate college imparting general education to get this prestigious grade from NAAC in the entire state of Haryana.

In 2006, the U.G.C. awarded us the status of a college with potential for excellence. Following this, the college has received a grant to the tune of Rs. 60 Lacs for strengthening its infra structure and creating better teaching and learning conditions. Recently, the college has received another grant of Rs. 50 lacs from the UGC to upgrade its science departments.
