Doctor of Medicine in Geriatrics is a three-year postgraduation course. Geriatrics or Geriatric medicine is a specialty that focuses on health care of elderly people. The curriculum includes expertise in the aging process, the impact of aging on illness patterns, drug therapy in seniors, health maintenance, and rehabilitation. They are trained in the unique health needs of the elderly, including chronic diseases, nutritional problems, skin ailments, cognitive loss, memory impairment, adverse affects of medications, immobility and balances issues.
