Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy was the major donor to the establishment of college by donating Rs. 1,20,000/- and thus the college was named as Sannapureddy Krishna Reddy Government Degree College, Gudur. The college took shape with the help of donantions from local Mica business people and members of Rotary club. Nearly 100 acres Land given by the local farmers of Gudur Town freely donated and registered.
