Anna University of Technology, Chennai The Centre for Biotechnology was established in 1987 in Anna University with financial support from Department of Biotechnology, Delhi, University Grants Commission, Delhi and Anna University. The Department of Biotechnology has the following objectives: To Train students in the fields of Biotechnology and Food Technology by offering various U.G & P.G programmes. To promote research activities in various areas of Biotechnology & Food Technology. The Centre subscribes to forty journals both National and International. It has a collection of more than 3000 volumes of latest books on Biotechnology, Food Technology and Pharmaceutical Technology. Students are provided with adequate computer facilities to access journals through the National Knowledge Network (NKN).
