Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore Department of Computer Applications The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2007 dated: 28.11.2007. The Department offers Master of Computer Applications (MCA) – 3 Years (Full Time) Post-Graduate Programme. It is one of the pioneering departments in the University. This Department comprises of experienced faculty members and is actively involved in research and in carrying out projects besides teaching. It is committed to impart quality education in the fields of IT, a field growing in leaps and bounds. The curriculum is so made that the course provides a good theoretical foundation through high quality teaching complemented by extensive practical training. Vision and Mission of the Department To impart high quality education and state-of-the-art training to our students, exposing them to current and broad areas of Computer Applications and help them in their overall personality development. Besides formal education, the Department imparts the highly essential qualities of team spirit, dedication and the art of leadership to its wards. Goals to achieve Vision and Mission The Department motivates Staff and Students to promote Industry Institute Interaction and R&D activities. In addition to regular curriculum, the department organizes technical seminars, symposia, workshops, industrial visits, in-plant training to expose the students to the real world environments and to enable them to gain practical knowledge. The department has well-equipped Lab facilities with latest Software and Hardware. The students are provided with ample opportunities to improve their organizational skills and group dynamics. They are motivated to handle seminars and to participate in group discussions. Apart from emphasizing on consistent and good academic performance, the department encourages participation in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to bring out the latent talents in its students.
