NEET UG uses a standardized marking scheme. Each correct answer earns 4 marks, while each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Questions left unanswered receive 0 marks. Since candidates attempt 180 questions, the maximum possible score is 720. After the exam, the NTA calculates raw scores and prepares an All India Rank (AIR) based on candidates' marks. Tie-breaking criteria may be applied if two or more candidates obtain the same score.
