To appear for the GMAT, a candidate must be at least 18 years old; however, those aged 13 to 17 can take the test with written parental consent. There is no specific upper age limit or mandatory minimum educational qualification (like a degree) required by GMAC to sit for the exam, though most B-schools will require a bachelor's degree for admission. For Indian students, a valid and current Passport is the only acceptable form of identification at the test center. While work experience is not a prerequisite for the exam, it is often a critical factor for admission into the MBA programs where the score will be used.
