CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national-level MBA entrance examination conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on a rotational basis for admission to MBA/PGP and other postgraduate management programs. CAT scores are primarily used for admission to the 21 IIMs and are also accepted by several other top B-schools across India such as FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IITs, and many private universities. The exam is computer-based (CBT) and is conducted in multiple sessions on a single day, typically in November. CAT evaluates candidates on Quantitative Ability (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC). The score is valid for one admission cycle only.
