FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) is a licensing examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in India. The exam is mandatory for Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who have obtained their medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a foreign medical institution and wish to practice medicine in India. Candidates must qualify FMGE to obtain provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or any State Medical Council.
