The CMAT Score is the total marks you earn out of 400 based on the +4/-1 marking scheme. The CMAT Percentile is a relative rank indicating the percentage of candidates who scored less than or equal to you. For example, if you are in the 95th percentile, it means you performed better than 95% of the total test-takers in that session. Admission cut-offs for top B-schools are almost always based on the percentile rather than the raw score.
