To be eligible for CAT, a candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates). The degree must be awarded by a recognized university or educational institution. Final-year students of graduation or those awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree requirements within the stipulated timeframe specified by the admitting institute. There is no age limit for appearing in CAT. Professional degrees such as CA, CS, ICWA, or FIAI are also considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Work experience is not mandatory to appear for CAT, although some IIMs award weightage for it during final selection.
