The GATE examination is conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) and typically consists of 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The exam duration is three hours. The question paper generally includes three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The paper is divided into two main sections: General Aptitude, which carries 15 marks, and the core subject paper, which carries 85 marks. The questions may carry either 1 mark or 2 marks each.
