In JEE Main, each correct answer in the multiple-choice section carries 4 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted as negative marking. Numerical value questions generally do not have negative marking. The total marks depend on the number of questions in the exam, but typically the maximum score for the B.E./B.Tech paper is 300 marks, with 100 marks allotted to each subject: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
