Leaving questions blank is significantly more detrimental to your score than guessing incorrectly. The GMAT scoring algorithm applies a severe penalty for every unanswered question in each of the three sections. If you do not finish a section within the 45-minute limit, your score is penalized based on the number of questions left blank. It is always statistically better to provide a guess for the remaining questions in the final minute than to leave them unanswered, even if those guesses are likely to be wrong.
