After CAT results are declared (usually in December/January), IIMs shortlist candidates based on CAT percentile, academic records, and other criteria. Shortlisted candidates are invited for Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) in some institutes, and Personal Interview (PI). Final selection is based on a composite score including CAT score, WAT/GD-PI performance, academic profile (10th, 12th, graduation marks), work experience, and diversity factors. Each IIM has its own selection criteria and weightage distribution.
