In cases where two or more candidates obtain the same total score in JEE Main, specific tie-breaking rules are applied. Typically, the candidate with a higher score in Mathematics is given preference. If the tie still remains, the candidate with higher marks in Physics is ranked higher. If the tie persists further, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers may be given priority. If all criteria remain identical, age or application number-based rules may be applied as per the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency.
