10th August, 1960 is a red letter day for the people of Bilasipara, as on this auspicious day, the College was established in a picturesque surroundings of the Bilasipara town. The College was under the stewardship of a number of educationists and administrators at different times. Sri P.P. Changkakati was the founder principal of the College. Bilasipara College received ad-hoc grand form the State Govt. in 1966 and it was placed under Defict-Grant-in-Aid System of the Govt in 1969 but it came under Provincialisation Act form 1st December, 2005, Conforming to the National Pattern of education (10+2+3 system) this full fledged degree College impart two-year Higher Secondary(Arts & Science ) and three year Degree Courses of study in (Arts and Science) faculties although the Science stream is yet to be placed under Porvincialisation Act., The college authority is fully aware of its limitations in providing full facilities to the students, but still it has been doing tis best to cater to the needs of the student’sin spite of its limited resources. It will not be out of place to mention here that there is a good number of scholars among the teaching staff in different departments of the college.
