Abdul Latif Choudhury College was established on 8th March, 1996 under the initiative of the then Cabinet Minister of Assam and son of the soil, Late Sahidul Alom Choudhury as well as with the co-operation of local inhabitants of North Hailakandi. It is a premier institute of higher education in North Hailakandi Constituency, providing quality education for students from the surrounding tea gardens, rural areas as well as neighboring districts. The college has two streams Arts and Commerce, for spreading education in true sense to all sections of the society. This institution is very much committed for the educational upliftment of the society as a whole., The College is affiliated to Assam University, Silchar (A Central University, constituted under the Act XII of Parliament in the year 1994) as a steady programme since its inception., The College has been Provincialised by Govt. of Assam under “The Assam Venture Educational Institutions (Provincialisation of services) Act 2011, amended 2012 vide Assam Act No. –XXI of 2012”., To build up character, stamina, emotional integration with the society and to compliment class room teaching, the college provides exposure of students through National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Gymnastic and Yoga trainings and other co-curricular activities., Our Vision, The vision of the College is to transform traditional learners to a value-based and life oriented education as well as for all round development of human resources for becoming a responsible citizen of our country., Our Mission, “An educational home for all communities, an El Dorado opening its gate bidding all enter and possess”.
