University, Darbhanga and accredited to give courses in I.A., I.Com, I. Sc., B.A., B. Com and then B.Sc. K.B. JHA COLLEGE; KATIHAR emerged as one of the premier co-educational degree college in Katihar. The college was converted into a constituent college of L.N.Mithila University, Darbhanga on October ,31,1986 in pursuance of the Govt.of Bihar dated August , 19, 1986 on the basis of an agreement executed on October,31,1986., Later, when B.N.Mandal University came into existence in 1992. The college was one of its constituent colleges. K.B.Jha College, Katihar is a constituent unit of the newly established Purnea University, Purnia since March, 2018., The college has made a good progress in 43 years. The college attract a large number of U.G. students in the faculties of Arts,Science and Commerce. This college also conducts Intermediate (+2) in the faculties mentioned above. It has wings of N.S.S. and N.C.C. The common facilities provided by the college include a rich Library and Sports facilities. At present nearly six thousand students are studying in all faculties., The college has 05 Acre and 65 Decimal of land. The college is easily accessible by road and rail. The college boasts of greenery all around the campus. In the campus there are facilities such as Administrative Block, Library Building, Science Block, Seminar Hall, Multipurpose Hall, one Welfare Hostel and a newly built Girls Hostel., At K. B.
