Azmet Institute of Technology, AIT was established in the year 2010 to fulfill a long felt public need for an excellent Engineering Institute in Kishanganj. AIT, is an important constituent of Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust which is one of the best Educational Trust in Bihar. The Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust has been set up by Mr Md Jawaherul Hasan.

In view of such a horrifying spectacle of no technical centre throughout the length and breadth of the district, Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust took up the all too daunting tasks of imparting technical education to the depressed and neglected populate of the region and as the primary step in this direction AZMET College of Engineering and Technology has been set up at Tengarmari with the help of eminent scholars and social activists of the region.
