The college became affiliated in 1968. This college was governed by private management till 1980. The college became a constituent unit on 01/10/1980. It is a Degree college imparting education up to Honours Level both in Science and Arts., We are committed to serve the needs of the larger society, involving all caste, creed or community, particularly to the underprivileged class, who are meritorious but lack the means. This is also manifested in the high rate of enrolment of SC, ST, OBC and Minority students. The ratio of the girl students of the college is also noticeably high.
