Nalanda Mahila College, Biharsharif was established in International Women Year 1975 with view point of providing higher education and multi-development of women. The need of Mahila College for higher education was felt for a long time, ultimately, that dream was transformed into reality in 1995 and restrained doors of higher education were broken. Since then, this college has been serving in the field of higher education for the all round development of women. It has been a constituent unit of Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, since 1981., Nalanda Mahila College, Bihar Sharif, is the only constituent Unit of Nalanda District Under Patliputra University, Patna for Women’s Higher Education. This college was established in the international Women Year, 1975. Since then, it has strived for higher providing higher education to students of Nalanda and neighboring districts through learned and industrious teachers along with the experienced and laborious non teaching staff. The students of this college have been participating in games and sports as well as cultural activities at the district, university and many of them have been recipients of different awards. the students of this college Talat Naznin and Sushma Kumari obtained first and third rank in Bihar Intermediate Arts Examination 2010, respectively. Besides it, there is a center of Nalanda Open University in the college for enhancement of education
