The Department was established in the year 1994 .It offers under graduate program B. Tech- Electronics and Communication Engineering and 2 Post Graduate programmes - M. Tech Communication Systems and M. Tech –VLSI & Embedded Systems. The department has an optimum blend of staff members with Research & Development, Industrial and Academic experience. The department has excellent infrastructure with 14 labs all with industry standard hardware & software tools.

The department has 37 faculty members of which 7 faculty members are with Ph.D qualification and further 30 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D research in our B.S.Abdur rahman university,Further 10 faculty members from other premier institutions are carrying out their Ph.D research in this department. The department has vibrant research activity that the research scholars and faculty members are highly motivated in carrying out the research and often publish their research findings in referred International journals and Conferences.
