Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (DBMB) was established in 2010 the Riverside Transit Campus, Padannakkad to promote education and research in the area of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. It is developing into a state of the art facility for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. It has introduced an interdisciplinary programme through a flexible curriculum, and admits 16 students for MSc (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology), and 6 students for MPhil/PhD in (Biochemistry).
The Department is constantly evolving as an advanced research hub in the areas of basic aswell as applied Biochemist ry and Molecular Biology.Current ly, the Department houses laboratories equipped with instruments and equipment such as HPLC, Ultrac entrifuge,CO incubators, Gradient PCR 2machines, Gel doc, -80oC freezers, fluorescent and light microscopes, etc
