PhD, with faculty strength of 13, the Department of English, MG R College, imparts a holistic outlook to the study of language and literature. Ever since its inception in 1989-90 the English Department has played a significant role in helping students to communicate in English. The bridge courses and soft skills training programmes have provided the necessary impetus to overcome the language difficulties of students hailing from rural areas. Providing space for optimum growth of latent talents the department continues ‘to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield’. Association Zelos … patronizing your path to Zenith The English Literary Association Zelos is an empowering endeavor on the part of the English department to hone the language and literary skills of the students. The association is a platform that encourages a display of inherent talents. Zelos serves as a theatre of expositions that organizes intra- and inter-departmental competitions. Zelos, the literary magazine bears the testimony to the creative zeal of both the students and the faculty members.
