Future Scope : Biomedical Engineering blends traditional engineering techniques with biological sciences and medicine to improve the quality of human health and life. It focuses both on understanding complex living systems via experimental and analytical techniques and on development of devices, methods and algorithms that advance medical and biological knowledge while improving the effectiveness and delivery of clinical medicine.
Biomedical engineering has been a critical component of the technological advances in medicine and health care delivery that has dramatically transformed the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in the last few decades. Whether in the area of biomedical imaging, bio-signal processing, medical instrumentation, biomechanics, biomaterials and implants, drug delivery, or cell and tissue engineering, these advances are continuing to accelerate.
About Department : Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) is one of the prestigious engineering institutes under Lokmanya Tilak Jankalyan Sikshan Sanstha (LTJSS), Nagpur. This is the first institute offering B. Tech Biotechnology degree as four-year semester syllabus in the Vidharba region. Blessed with spacious and sprawling campus, the college and its Department of Biotechnology, aims for academic excellence and all-round development of its students. This course was started in on 19th of June 2007 with the intake of 60 students, approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), and affiliated to Rashtrasanth Tukdoji Maharaj (RSTM) Nagpur University.
