Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the three branches started in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students. In the year 2005 the intake was increased to 90 and then to 120 in the year 2007.
The post graduate program in VLSI Design with an intake of 18 was started in the year 2007. The department is also a member of Nano Technology Technical Consortium; New Delhi from June 2008. The department is also awarded the center of excellence for research and advanced studies under Anna University, Coimbatore. Cognizant Technology solutions (CTS) has accredited the institution in 2008 to have academic and placement coordination.
The department has well equipped laboratories such as Electron Devices Lab, Electronic Circuits Lab, Microprocessor and Micro Controller lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Digital Signal Processing / Networks Lab, VLSI Lab, Communication Lab, Electronic System Design / Integrated Circuits Lab are equipped with latest configured systems and work stations. Advanced softwares like ORCAD, MyCAD, Mat Lab etc are available in this department to train the students towards employability skills.
Many Alumni of this department are placed in leading Industrial organizations. Students are highly motivated to present technical papers in various forums. They are guided to carry out innovative projects in their final year.
