Course Information & Syllabus
The Department of Chemistry is functioning from 2005 under self-financing stream and is offering B.Sc chemistry as a main degree course with Computer Science & Mathematics as subsidiaries and Chemistry as subsidiary for Zoology (main) students . The well-equipped laboratory provides facilities for advanced research in various areas of chemical sciences.
The Department of Chemistry started with 23 students, 4 teaching faculties and 1 lab assistant . The Chemistry Department is running under the valuable leadership of Dr.Rajeev Thomas (M.Sc, B.Ed ,M.Phil, , Ph.D) Reader &Head of the department.
Along with their regular classroom learning and practical work,
students also do a supervised project work. Every year they are taken on a study tour to places/institutions of scientific importance with a view to improving their scientific/research aptitude and skills.
Chemistry department conducts seminars, video shows, slide shows etc. in connection with students-oriented scientific activities. Students actively participate in various extra-curricular activities. Students are interested and involved in the social and environmental matters of their communities, too.
Teachers of the department attend Orientation and Refresher courses periodically as part of their continuous learning and to improve their effectiveness as teachers. Teachers also attend seminars, workshops, , awareness programs, coaching classes etc with the same objective.
