B.Sc Hotel Management & Catering Science Objective The Depatment of hmcs is designed to train candidates at supervisory, managerial and lower skill levels in the hod and Lecturers practices of Hotel Management, Catering Science, Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office, Housekeeping, Computers, Financial Management, Tourism and Travel Management, Nutrition, Dietetics and Hospital Food Service and related crafts so as to provide qualified and technical personnel for the Hotel, Catering, Hospital, Travel and Tourism Industry, including training of catering personnel, at all levels , and for the Management of Industrial canteens, Institutional feeding programme, Hotels/Hospitals, Railways, Airlines, Shipping. Besides these, the caters to the needs of other areas where Foods/ Food Service are involved in different aspects such as Diets and Nutrition, Food Analysis, Quality Assurance etc. The importance of competent hoteliers is increasing with each passing day as five star hotels and resorts spring up around the country and chefs are feted at international events. The Hotel Management has been offering quality hospitality education and training for more than a decade. Special Facilities The qualified students of the Degree Course in Hotel Management get good employment and job opportunities in the Hotels, Restaurants, Industrial Catering Establishments, Airlines and Shipping and Railway Catering/ hospitals/ Guest-Houses/ Catering Institutes, etc. through campus recruitment which are organized by the institute for Hotel Management course. Many students have already gone abroad for advanced training in Catering Science and Hotel Management as well as on good foreign placements.
