Course Information & Syllabus
The department aims at making a professional out of every student with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest developments in the field. Well qualified and committed faculties are a distinguishing feature of the department. Department is also conducting programs like personality development, industrial visits and interaction with eminent personalities through Electrical& Electronics Association. The Department library has a large collection of books, BIS codes, journals and proceedings.
Core Subjects
They include Electrical Machines, Power System, Control Systems, Network Theory and Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation. The Syllabus is designed such that the students get maximum exposure in the field of Electronics also. The subjects covered include Digital Electronics, Communication Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics Circuits, Linear Integrated Circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessor, Micro - Controllers etc.
Allotment of seats
The number of students to be admitted from different categories is appointed as follows
(a) Government Quota - 50%
(b) Management Quota - 50% (Including 10% for NRI’s)
Selection
(i) The selection of candidate belonging to
(a) will be on the basis of their rank obtained in the entrance examinations, Government of Kerala.
(b), under Management quota, will be as prescribed by the Government from time to time, on the basis of rank obtained in the Entrance Examinations conducted by the Government of Kerala.
(ii) The selection of candidates belonging to NRI category will be on the basis of the marks scored by them for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry which alone will be taken into account for determining their rank. In the case of a tie, the marks scored in Mathematics will be taken as criterion on rank. Once admitted transfer from NRI category to RI category is not permissible. They need not necessarily appear for entrance examination.
Age
The applicant should have completed 17 years of age on the 31st December of the year of admission. No relaxation of minimum age limit shall be permitted on any account.
