Post Graduate Department of Commerce
Backdrop: The department was established in the year 1973.Though introduced after 25 years of inception of the College, it helped the local students to pursue a most marketable and need based course hitherto unavailable in the area.
Performance: During last 27 years of its existence, the Department has introduced M.Com course with specialization in Accountancy. Further seats in undergraduate course increased from 32 to 256 and after the college was conferred with autonomous status all the 256 seats were converted to Honours seats. The Department organizes seminars frequently by inviting academicians, professionals and technocrats from different institutions, firms, industries and business establishments. Every year students of this department excel in their examinations by securing higher ranks in the university. During all these years the department has created many entrepreneurs in business and industry, Professionals in Management. Many of them are successful as company secretaries, Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, Insurance and banking Executives etc.
Vision: The future plans of the department to be implemented are
To introduce Computer Application as one of the optionals in +2,+3 and P.G classes.
To open chapters of: i.) Chartered Accountancy(C.A.I.) ii)Costs and Works Accountancy(I.C.W.A.I.) iii) Company Secretary ship (C.S.I.)
To open MBA/PG Diploma in i) Rural Management, ii) NGO, iii) Human Resources Development, iv) Retail Management, v)Logistics and Supply Chain Management, vi) Management ethics
