The specialised courses in Computer Aided Interior Design (CAID) are offered under different design programmes to choose from. The course contents are designed by professionals. he faculty members have a vast practical as well as theoretical experience. The entire focus is based on the fundamentals of orienting the students to meet the challenges of the present and future requirement of the market place. Since all courses are computerised, there is an extensive integration of CAD (Computer Aided Design) in the curriculum.The new millennium will see the presence of IID in various cities throughout India. This will be achieved by the vast enquiries received for franchise operations from a number of states. The process of identifying the correct city and within that city the right place for the franchise operation is determined by strict quality control standards., Indian Institute of Craft and Design (IICD) is a unique institution that is synergizing traditional knowledge and skills with contemporary needs to evolve methodologies that are relevant to modern India. Conceived as a nodal centre for excellence in Craft and Design it has programs in Education, Training & Outreach, Research and Documentation and Advisory & Consultancy services. Education in IICD is a hands-on experience that seeks to equip students with a thorough understanding of materials, technologies, skills and concepts along with exposure to the diversity of Indian culture. Students are initiated into the entire ecosystem of Craft and are encouraged to understand complexities at the level of the village as well as the industrial production centres. Craft design, technology, management and entrepreneurship skills become the bedrock on which they build their careers. Training and Outreach Programs are conducted at the grass root level with artisans, self-help groups and non-governmental organizations. These are multi-disciplinary in approach and are designed to add value to agencies working in craft development and promotion as well as to provide a platform for students to directly interact with craft communities. IICD has been involved in reviving the craft of Phulkari, has worked with weavers at Bassi, the potters of Dausa and several such interventions geared towards the development of crafts. IICD is also involved in research and documentation of the vast and complex world of craft.
