Course Information & Syllabus
Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of sub topics including power, electronics, control systems; signal processing and telecommunications. There are equally good opportunities for jobs in electrical engineering industry and higher education. As
an electrical engineer, one could work in a range of areas, including:
=> Power generation, transmission and distribution.
=> Renewable energy sources, such as solar  paneling, hydroelectric and wind turbines
=> Design, installation and testing of electrical motors, generators, alternators, transformers, cables and switchgears
=> Manufacturing and construction industries.
=> Transport  networks,  including  rail  electrification  and signaling.
=> Building services, such as lighting, heating, ventilation and lift systems.
