Eligibility Criteria

MBA (Financial Management) for Officers from Central Governments/State Governments/Union Territories/Central PSUs/State PSUs/Autonomous Organizations under State or Central Governments/Other bodies of the Central/State Government from India or Abroad:

  • All participants must possess a Graduation degree or its equivalent from a recognized Indian/foreign university, acknowledged by the Association of Indian Universities, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • General Category and OBC candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (of all years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree. SC/ST/PWD candidates must attain a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (of all years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA.
  • The maximum age limit for all participants is 50 years on the last date of submission of the application form for the programme.
  • Officers should be working at middle/senior levels in their respective organizations with a minimum of three years of work experience (officers in pay level 11 and above in Central and State Government or equivalent in PSUs).

For Foreign Students:

  • Proficiency in the English language is required. The institute accepts scores from tests like the TOEFL or IELTS.
  • Candidates should provide letters of recommendation from professors or employers attesting to their academic abilities and potential.
  • A Statement of Purpose outlining the candidate’s academic and career goals and why they are interested in the MBA program is required.
  • The institute will conduct an online interview as part of the admission process to assess the candidate’s suitability for the program.
  • Foreign students must also meet the visa requirements set by the Indian government for studying in India.

MBA (Finance):

A. Private Participants:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent awarded by any university incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is required. For SC/ST/PWD candidates, a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is necessary.
  • Candidates must have qualified in any one of the all India Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, or CUET (PG) and submit valid test scores not more than 2 years old.
  • The upper age limit is 30 years on the date of commencement of the programme. Reservation Policy will be as per Jawaharlal Nehru University norms.
  • Please Note: The institute uses the CAT score for short-listing/selecting candidates for the MBA (Finance) programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

B. Corporate Executives:

  • The maximum age of the participant should not exceed 50 years on the date of commencement of the programme.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience is required at the time of Commencement of the Programme.
  • The participant should submit a NOC/Sponsorship Certificate from the respective organization.
  • Rest of the norms are the same as applicable to the private participants mentioned in para A of eligibility criteria.
  • The final list of selected candidates will be based on the aggregate of the following: All India Level Common Entrance Test 50% Weightage, Group Discussion 25% Weightage, Personal Interview 25% Weightage.

C. Government Officers:

  • Minimum percentage of marks at the graduation level should be 50%.
  • The maximum age of the participant should not exceed 50 years on the date of commencement of the programme.
  • Officers at middle/senior levels working with the Central or State Governments or similar participants from foreign countries are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Government officers are exempted from Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, CUET (PG).

Application Process

MBA (FM):

Admission forms can also be downloaded from the AJNIFM website. Completed applications should be sent by post to Dr. Brajesh Kumar, Professor & Programme Director, MBA (FM), Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management, Sector-48, Pali Road, Faridabad, Pincode–121001 (Haryana) on or before June 3, 2024, in a sealed envelope marked as “Application for MBA (FM) 2024-26”. Alternatively, applicants can apply online through the website link http://www.ajnifm.ac.in/user/register or by sending a scanned copy of their application via email to [email protected] followed by a hard copy. For sponsored candidates, the letter from the sponsoring organization must be submitted by the due date. The 'Date Schedule' mentioned at the end of the prospectus must be followed in all cases.

MBA (F):

For Private Participants/Corporate Executives:

Candidates should apply through the prescribed application form, duly filled in. The completed application form, along with a resume, proof of educational qualifications, category certificate, work experience (if any), copy of CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/CUET (PG) valid scorecard, and an application fee of Rs. 2,000/- (to be paid through Demand Draft or online via RTGS/NEFT with the relevant reference number mentioned on the application), should be sent to Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (AJ-NIFM), Sector-48, Pali Road, Near Badkhal Lake, Faridabad-121001, Haryana, on or before May 10, 2024. The envelope should be marked as "Application for MBA (Finance), 2024-26". The duly filled application form should also be emailed to [email protected]. Applications from candidates without a valid score of CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, or CUET (PG) will not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview for admission to this Programme.

Documents to be attached with the Application Form:

  • Copy of 10th, 12th, and graduation mark sheets and certificates.
  • For candidates in the final year of graduation, semester-wise or year-wise mark sheet must be submitted along with the admit card for their forthcoming final year examination or a letter from the Head/Dean of the College/University certifying the same.
  • Copy of category certificate from central/state government.
  • Copy of valid scorecard of CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT, CUET (PG).
  • Copy of professional qualification such as CA, CS, CWA, CFA, or any other professional qualification.
  • Demand Draft for the application fees (in case of offline payment).

Note: All the above-mentioned documents should be self-certified/attested except for the Demand Draft.

For Government Sponsored Officers/Candidates:

Government-sponsored candidates are eligible for direct admission to the full-time Master of Business Administration (Finance). Completed applications, along with all supporting documents/testimonials (from matriculation certificate onwards and relieving letter from the organization), in original, must reach AJ-NIFM by June 20, 2024. Candidates shall be shortlisted by the Institute, and the shortlisted candidates and their sponsors will be informed accordingly. The institute reserves the right to interview such candidates.
