Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate is eligible to register for admission to the PhD program after obtaining:
- A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree program following a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program, or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree program following a 3-year bachelor’s degree program, or qualifications deemed equivalent to a master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
- A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be granted for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories as per the decision of the Commission.
- However, candidates seeking admission after completing a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale if a grading system is followed. Again, a relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories as per the decision of the commission.
- Candidates who have completed an M.Phil program with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale where grading system is followed, or an equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency approved and recognized by an authority established under the law in its home country, or any other statutory authority, shall be eligible for admission to the PhD program. Again, a relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Application Fee

Admission Process
- Admission will be based on the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Eligible candidates will be informed about the entrance test.
- Candidates who have qualified for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET or similar National level tests are exempted from the entrance test and will be directly notified for an interview.
- The syllabus for the Entrance Test will comprise 50% research methodology and 50% specific to Public Health or Hospital Administration.
- Candidates who secure 50% marks in the entrance test will be eligible for the interview. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance test for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled category/Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
- Final selection for the PhD program will be based on a weightage of 70% for the entrance test and 30% for the performance in the interview/viva-voce.
- Selected candidates for the PhD program will be notified of their selection, and the list of selected candidates will be posted on the IIPHG website.
