Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates applying for admission to any of the Doctoral Degree Courses must meet the following criteria:
- Possession of a Master of Science or an equivalent degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or Community Science, as applicable, in the relevant field of specialization (as listed in the table below).
- Minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate under the traditional examination system or a GPA of 3.25 out of a 4.00 point scale or OGPA of 7.50 or above in a 10.00 point scale in the grade point system.
- For SC and ST candidates, a pass in the Degree of Master of Science in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or Community Science under the traditional system or OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10.00 under the Grade Point system is sufficient.
- A basic degree of four (4) years duration from PJTSAU or an institution accredited by ICAR is mandatory.
- Applicants who have appeared for ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF (Ph.D) 2023 are eligible for admission into the Doctoral Degree Courses of PJTSAU.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for admission into Ph.D. courses is 40 years as of December 31, 2023.

Selection Process:
The selection process includes:
- Evaluation based on previous academic records at the undergraduate/postgraduate level.
- Performance test conducted by ICAR through ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF (Ph.D) 2020, with weightage in the ratio of 10:30:60 (10% for B.Sc. marks, 30% for M.Sc. marks, and 60% for Entrance Marks).
- Admission is granted based on the overall merit rank, allowing candidates to choose a specific degree/discipline at PJTSAU, considering the availability of seats at that merit rank through offline counseling.
