SMIMS Medical Biotechnology Admission 2024

  1. B.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology (3 years)
  2. M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology (2 years)

The Medical Biotechnology Department was established in 2008 and continues to remain one of the most vibrant departments of SMIMS.

Eligibility Criteria

For BSc Medical Laboratory Technology Program

  • For admission to the BMLT course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually. Additionally, they must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB for General Caste candidates and 45% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories.

For MSc Medical Biotechnology Program

  • For admission to the Integrated M.Sc. Medical Biotechnology course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology individually. Additionally, they must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB for General Caste candidates and 45% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories.

  • Completed application forms, along with copies of necessary documents supporting claims in any reserved category, should be dispatched to the Admission Officer, Sikkim Manipal University, 5th Mile, Tadong, Gangtok 737102.

  • The cost of the application form is Rs.1000/-. There is no extra charge for the prospectus on purchase of the application form.
