Initially started as an intermediate Arts College in the auspices of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Uchha Vidyapeetha, the institution was soon shifted to its present location surrounded by sal and mahua trees giving an air of a gurukul ashram. The Degree classes were started in the year 1984 and the college got affiliated to the Utkal University.
