After one year of Babubhai M. Shah Mahavidyalaya was started at Amirgadh, Gujarat had to suffer three consecutive years of severe droughts. The well got dried up. There was no rain. Land and water borth are likely to obstruct teaching and other activities of the Mahavidhalaya. The teaching of agriculture is a very important aspect of it. On account of the scarcity of water and a limit to land area, the Mahavidyalaya was shifted to Gandhi Ashram, Zilia after five years of its existence there.

For the educational , cultural & economical development of this rural area , making student self reliant by providing him higher education aided with the latest educational technology & other infrastructure facilities for his multifaceted progress. To provide life- oriented higher education aiming at making the student aware , self- reliant ,responsible and an ideal citizen with positive healthy and scientific attitude towards life.
