The Government of Arunachal Pradesh had issued the notification in 2009 for opening of the college, but the first academic session started in 2010 only. This college is managed to strive ahead and blossom as a centre of learning for fulfilling the aspirations of the youths of the district in particular and state as a whole for learning higher education in the country.

Government College Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University, and U.G.C. Status also NAAC accrediation. The college is provide education of Bachelor Degree Programmes in Social Sciences and Humanities.
