Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur was established in 1945 by Shiksha Mandal, Wardha to fulfill the requirement of Commerce education in the region during the pre-Independence period. It is the first Commerce College in the city of Nagpur and only the second in Nagpur University: the first being G. S. College of Commerce, Wardha.

Central Institute of Business Management Research & Development (CIBMRD) was established in 1994 as an offshoot of Vidya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (VSPM) the roots of which are 41 yrs old. Shri. Ranjitbabu Deshmukh, Honorable Ex- minister for Agriculture and Textiles, today heads VSPM which has been able to establish around 64 academic institutions imparting various regular and professional courses.

Conventionally Universities have been the personification of liberal education which is intended at developing human intelligence. With higher enrolment in institutions of higher learning, academic education alone has proved to be inadequate. As per recent claims only 10 -12 % of the university graduates are directly employable. Comprehending this restraint, the Govt. has its attention now on conversion to a mixed of academic and skilled based education.

This college is situated on the Shirol-Narsinhwadi road. The Junior college of Arts and Commerce is also attached to our college. The provision of imparting education up to B.A. & B.Com. Degree course is available in this college for the benefit of students through this prospectus.
