Maharshi Valmiki College of Education was established in the year 1995 by the Govt of NCT of Delhi as a Constituent College of University of Delhi to cater to the long standing need for providing avenues for pre-service elementary and secondary teacher education programmes for the aspiring students in Delhi.

The Lady Hardinge Medical College for women was founded in 1914 to commemorate the visit of Her Majesty Queen Mary in 1911-12. Lady Hardinge the wife of the then Viceroy was the first to take initiative for starting a medical college for women, as the lack of separate medical college for women made it almost impossible for Indian women to study medicine.

Jagan Institute of Management Studies, set up in 1993 under the aegis ofJagan Nath Gupta Memorial Educational Society -a registered non-profit body, has been working for the attainment of a mission, i.e.,to develop skilled human resource for industry and business. The Indian Statistical Institute was founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December, 1931. The institute gained the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959. The Delhi Centre of the Indian Statistical Institute was started in 1974, and shifted to its present campus in 1975. A small Statistical section established in 1930 under the, then, Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, to assist the State Departments of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry in planning their experiments, analysis of experimental data, interpretation of results and rendering advice on the formulation of the technical programmes as also examining the progress reports of the schemes funded by the Council.
