Centre for Latin American Studies
The Centre conducts a university-based programme devoted to the study of Latin America and the Caribbean area, combining research, teaching, publishing and public extension activities. The academic emphasis is interdisciplinary with emphasis on social science (Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science and International Relations).In addition, the Centre also conducts a Masters Programme in International Studies.

Optional Courses
Students from any of the post-graduate faculties including Management and Science may opt for any two of the following options offered by the centre,subject to the minimum of five students enrolling for such course.

M.A. in International Studies The programme is based on understanding of
An exposure to multiple perspectives within which international relations can be studied in the emerg ing global order.
An engagement with the contentious issues of international politics from global warming to nuclear proliferation.
An analysis of the institutions and organisations which regulate international affairs from WTO to UN and other regional organisation.
An introduction to the cultural issues that have emerged including issues related to the Indian diaspora.
These different aspects of the global order would be taught using the resources of Goa University and associate institutions.
Admission to the course is based on marks obtained in BA exam as well as on entrance or change of faculty test conducted by the Centre.
