Established in 2004 and for the first time in Gujarat it offered a full four year degree course – Bachelor in Optometry [B.Optom]. Nagar School of Optometry set the standards for optometric education and research in Gujarat. From the year 2009 Master of Optometry [M.Optom.] started in Nagar School of Optometry.

Nagar School of Optometry is managed by Nagri Eye Research Foundation Trust of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Nagar School of Optometry is attached with Nagri municipal eye hospital.

The college provides excellent educational facilities like well-equipped laboratories, audiovisual equipments in every lecture halls, clinical and optical exposures.

The Nagar School of Optometry, popularly known as NSO in the optometry field, is the first and leading college of optometry in GUJARAT offering a four year professional degree of BACHELOR IN OPTOMETRY since 2004.

Nso set the Standards for Optometric Education and Research in Gujarat. From the year 2009, Full-time Master of Optometry has been Introduced by Gujarat University. College is Managed by Nagri eye Research Foundation trust of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and is Attached to nagri Municipal eye Hospital, a Tertiary eye care center for Gujarat.

The College Provides Excellent Education Facilities Equipped with Laboratories, Audio-visuals in Every Lecture hall, Clinical and Optical Exposures. Team of five full-time Optometry Faculties, one full-time Physics Faculty, five visiting Optometry Faculties, Twelve Ophthalmic Faculties and Faculties from Medical College Form an Rigid Backbone for the Institute.
