The College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology is one of the Constituent colleges of the Junagadh Agricultural University. The Junagadh Agricultural University came in to existance after the bifurcation of the Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU) w.e.f May 1, 2004. The GAU was established on February 1, 1972 under the Gujarat Agricultural University Act, Act No. 13 of 1969 of the Government of Gujarat. Under the faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology came in to existence in March-April, 1984 at Junagadh Campus of Gujarat Agricultural University (Now Junagadh Agricultural University).The college offers B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.) and M. Tech. (Ag. Engg.). From the year 2001 Ph. D. in Soil and Water Engineering for inservice candidates has also been started. The College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology has been accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkatta., The college offers B. Tech. programme in Agricultural Engineering and M. Tech. programmes in Agricultural Process and Food Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power, Soil and Water Engineering and Renewable Energy Management. The college has five departments namely Farm Machinery and Power, Soil and Water Engineering, Agricultural Process Engineering, Renewable Energy and Rural Engineering and Agricultural Engineering Extension Education. The courses related to basic engineering, basic science and humanities are offered by these departments. The college has good facilities like Library, Seminar hall, computer lab., workshop, instructional farm, hostels and faculty residences. The facilities like health center, sports, auditorium, central library and canteen are available at campus level, OUR MISSION, To produce good quality Agricultural Engineers., To provide the required manpower in the field of agricultural engineering suitable for research and education, extension, government agencies, private industries, agro-industries, NGO, etc., To assist farmers in reduction in cost of cultivation through better utilization of efficient machinery, soil and water conservation, irrigation management, value addition through farm level processing, post harvest technology; ultimately help the farmers to increase their earnings., Human resource development for the faculty., VISION, The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology will be one of the nation's finest colleges and lead others in coordinating the teaching, research and extension education in the field of Agricultural Engineering.
