Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar B. Tech. (Textile Chemistry) 8 semesters, 30 seats, admission through through AIEEE examination conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. The thrust area of B. Tech. (Textile Chemistry) includes: Dyeing Technology, Printing Technology and Finishing Technology. In addition, students are trained in Dyes and chemicals, Manufacturing of yarn, fabric, chemical/physical testing, garment processing, colour science etc. The hallmark of the training is rigorous practical training, both in the well equipped departmental laboratories as well as Textile processing industry, throughout India. M. Tech. (Textile Chemistry) 4 semesters, 10 seats, admission through entrance test held by the Department M.Tech (Textile Chemistry) course is a unique course containing subjects such as High-tech application of dyes, functional dyes, nanotechnology in textiles, technical textiles etc. in line with the present day requirements of industry as well as advanced research. Ph.D. in areas such as Heterocyclic Chemistry, Color Chemistry & Technology, Textile Chemistry & Functional dyes. Research projects from various funding agencies such as DST, CSIR, UGC, AICTE, MoEF etc are operative in the Department. The Department has also been selected for financial assistance under UGC SAP scheme at DRS-1 level. At least 8 students are currently pursuing Ph.D. in various projects sponsored by above agencies. Ten students have already done Ph.D. from this Department.
