Government Ayurvedic College Paprola is located in the beautiful district of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The college was established in 1972. It is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine Delhi and affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. The Ayurvedic college also introduced post graduate courses in 1998. Currently, the institution offers two courses, the first being Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda and the second being MD in Ayurveda., Government Ayurvedic College Paprola was originally named as Him Ayurvedic College Paprola, on March 14, 1972. Him Ayurvedic College Paprola was taken over by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, on March 3, 1978. Subsequent to the take over, the college was renamed as Govt. Ayurvedic College. The college was again renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Ayurvedic College Paprola, by the Himachal Pradesh Government, in August 1966., Located in the shadows of Dhauladar Hills, blessed by Baba Baijnath (Lord Shiva) and situated at the bank of Binva khud, Paprola village is proud of its Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College.The college came into existence in the year 1972 by the name of Him Ayurvedic College as a private institution under the supervision of Vaid Hakim Parishad of Himachal Pradesh by the efforts of Vaid Jagan Nath Sharma. At that time it was affiliated with Punjab faculty Chandigarh. Later in the year 1978 on 3rd March it was undertaken by H.P. Government and was affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University in 1979.
