The Department of Environmental Science was established in 2012.Initially the Department functioned as a teaching –unit for different disciplines of engineering. Doctoral research was started in 2008. At present the Department offers the PhD. Degree program in Environmental Science. The Department has permanent as well as visiting faculty members. The major research areas are: basic and applied ecology, pollution, environmental biology, environmental impact assessment, microbiology, environmental chemistry, bio remediation, resource studies, environmental toxicology, waste management and Environmental carcinogenesis.

Activities :
=> A guest lecture on “Urban Pollution and its Solution” delivered by Dr. S.C. Sharma of International Society of Environmental Botanists (NBRI) Lucknow, was organized on 9th Jan. 2014.
=> International Year of Water Cooperation -2013 was celebrated by the Faculty of Environmental Science and Civil Engineering on 20th AUG. 2013
