The Faculty of Engineering & Technology was established in 1985, since then Applied Science & Humanities Section was running to support the B. Tech. program. Later on, during VIIIth plan, M.Sc. (Electronics) program was given by UGC in 1994 with three faculty members. The UGC provided a grant of Rs. 58,56,842/- for running this course in the first five years. Being a unique course run by the university, the syllabi was framed in consultation with experts in the field. The course of M.Sc. Electronics now stands on very strong footings and has got appreciation from physicists and engineers. As the future technological development of our country largely rests upon the development in the field of electronics and communication, this course has to play a greater role in the near future. In 1996, a full fledged department, the department of Applied Sciences & Humanities was created. Since then, the department is progressing. At present, this department has thirteen faculty members.
