Started in 1957 as Department of Technology the University Polytechnic is one of the oldest departments of Jamia Millia Islamia. It is a part of the Faculty of Engg. and Technology of the University.
The University Polytechnic conducts diploma courses in Computer, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering during the day time for 3 years duration and in the evening as well for 4 years duration. The evening courses are self-financed and their classes are conducted from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on all working days and on Sundays. All the Diploma Engg. courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India.
